Nancy Evans Yates

I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY and lived there the first 30 years of my life. Since then I've been fortunate to live in New Mexico, Texas, Florida and finally settled down in a small town in South Georgia.

I love to write! I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember; mostly to amuse myself or someone else. And, while I loved the idea of writing and selling a book... I never really put the time and energy into it until 2007 when I wrote my first book, "Forbidden Fruit." I tried submitting to several different publishing houses... and ended up with a healthy collection of rejection letters. The sad thing is... they never actually read the book... I couldn't get beyond the query letter.

My husband, Claud, was so supportive and enthusiastic about my writing and kept encouraging me no matter how many rejections came my way... eventually, when he became very ill, I put it away on a shelf. A few months after he passed away, I stumbled on the Kindle Direct Publishing site. I knew what Claud would want me to do.

Today, I am happy to report that "Forbidden Fruit" is available on amazon.com as an ebook on Kindle and in paperback through Create Space. I have received my first royalty check from amazon.com, and I know a very special someone in Heaven is saying "I told you so!"
