“With Joe Wade, we walk big city streets. Look up at the jumpers, look

down and notice ‘The street’s skin is jaundiced/the cracks infected’ then

realize how human, how connected everything is. Wade’s poems move

us, hold us and grieve with us. They remind us how alive we can be in

each moment.” -Le Hinton, author of Black on Most Days and The God of

Our Dreams

“...Raw and violent passion, death, suicide and subjects of contemporary

social strife, Wade’s poetry is not meant for the faint hearted.” -Yvonne

Jurvis, The Excelsior

“It’s not too often that you read something and are immediately whisked

away inside the author’s imagination; but with Joe, we never had a

choice.” –Philip Rosenberg, Sex and Politics Radio
