I am a Michigan Writer of short stories, novels, and plays, and one day they will be Movies!

I wrote 'The Man from Conant Gardens'; a civil war novel about a plantation owner who has to figure out what to do with his uncle's mixed slave children, called the Master's Legacy, before the outbreak of the Civil War. It also involves two runaway slaves who were once free, but out of a chaotic situation, they were thrown into slavery and sold to the one plantation that can help them get back north, but at a price. It answers the question, what price do slaves pay for the ticket to freedom.

I am now working on the sequel to 'The man from Conant Gardens' called, 'The Rose between the weeds'. This story is about a former slave who is not only freed, but passes for white and then takes on the KKK after the Civil War, in order to protect the former slaves of Conant Gardens.
