Jonathan Williams

Dr. Jonathan Williams was a teaching pastor for 35 years with Great Commission Churches where he also served on the National Leadership Council and the Doctrinal Ministry Committee. He is the founder and president of WGS Ministries which advances life change, builds a biblical worldview, and connects people to God’s Story.

He connects people to God’s story in his story telling program Stories of the Master, his storytelling training, The 6 Cs of God’s Story for the World, and his video, The Renewal of All Things which is in 35 languages.

With Stories of the Master, Jonathan takes on the role of the storyteller, dramatizing the story of Christ and the stories he told for audiences around the world. He brings in cultural and historical details which Westerners often miss, but details which make the stories come alive. The 80 stories trace the life of Christ from his birth to his enthronement at the right hand of God. These stories and the video are now being translated into numerous languages for worldwide distribution.

Jonathan is a teacher and the author of several books including his recently published Romans 9 and the Story Paul Was Telling and The Edomite Enigma: Esau, His Children, and Romans 9:10-13. The latter book is the popularized version of his PhD dissertation on the history of the Edomite people and how that history should influence our interpretation of Paul’s words in Romans 9. Jonathan graduated Summa Cum Laude with his PhD in Biblical Studies from Trinity Seminary.

He was married to his first wife, Dee, for 27 years, who is now with the Lord. They have three children and six grandchildren. God has blessed Jonathan with another wonderful wife, Kathleen, who also loves the Lord and His people. She is a retired social worker from the San Antonio State Hospital, assists Jonathan with his ministry and is a private practice social work therapist.
