First-time published author and Korean War Veteran, Robert Brownbridge, grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Spokane, Washington. He holds a BA in sociology (1952, Whitman College), an MA in psychology (1965, SF State U) and an MSW in clinical social work (1967, UC Berkeley); there he was the founder and editor of the Berkeley Journal of Social Welfare. Until 2009, he lived in the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked for over forty years as a psychotherapist and community organizer. He and his wife, Jennifer, currently live in Boise, ID, where he volunteers with Boise’s St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice, and is a charter member of the Boise WordSpinners Writing Group. He has one daughter, four step-daughters and five step-grandchildren. In addition to blogging and offering poetry on his web/blog site, he is preparing a book of poetry and is in the beginning stages of writing two new books: the first will be a trilogy of short stories on his personal experiences with prejudice; second, a memoir about learning the mysteries of sexuality in hhisown youth.
