Mark B. Ketchen

Mark B. Ketchen is currently a technical consultant in solid-state technology and devices for industry and academia. He grew up in Meddybemps, Maine, a small town in the far "Down East" corner of the state. Following eight years in a one-room elementary school, four years in a regional high school and one year at the University of Maine, he attended MIT where he earned a BS in Physics, and subsequently PhD in Physics from UC Berkeley. He served for four years as an officer in the US Navy. Over the next 36 years he held a variety of research and management positions in science and technology at IBM. He is a Life Fellow of both the IEEE and the American Physical Society. His contributions to two books in semiconductor test derive from his keen interest in experimental physics and years of experience in the field of microelectronics.
