Frederic W. Burr

Enlisting in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, Fred rose through the enlisted ranks before receiving a commission as an Ensign in the surface line. He retired in the grade of Commander (Surface Warfare) after 23 years of service.

An honors graduate of the University of Louisville (BA), and Albany Law School of Union University (JD), Fred was in the private practice of law until retirement (he describes himself as a "fully recovered attorney"). He also served as a Town Justice in upstate New York, being re-elected without opposition for a second and third four-year term before he and his wife moved from the township. Aside from creative writing, he spends time with photography (landscapes, wildlife, sporting events and still life), using his images in creating his own cover art for some of his books. All of his works are fiction. The standalone novels explore different themes. Like one of his favorite writers has said, he writes stories he likes to read.

Fred and his wife Donna (who also writes) make their home in Kentucky.
