Arthur Crandon

Arthur Crandon is a British-born author, publisher and former lawyer whose work reflects a lifelong interest in justice, politics, culture and the extraordinary stories found within ordinary lives.

Now based in the Philippines, Arthur has published nearly 200 books across a remarkably wide range of subjects and genres. His writing includes fiction, practical guides, social commentary and thought-provoking non-fiction exploring law, politics, education, society and the challenges people face in an increasingly complicated world.

Arthur’s fascination with books began during childhood, when he discovered that stories could open doors to unfamiliar places, cultures and ways of thinking. That early love of reading and writing developed alongside a strong commitment to public service. In addition to his legal career, Arthur served as a Town Councillor in the United Kingdom, gaining firsthand experience of the relationship between laws, government and the everyday lives of the people they are intended to serve.

His years in Southeast Asia have profoundly influenced his fiction. Many of his stories explore the hidden corners of Philippine life, where ancient folklore, historical myths and modern realities meet. His characters are often ordinary people drawn into extraordinary circumstances and forced to make difficult choices involving morality, courage, loyalty and survival.

Arthur’s non-fiction is equally varied. He writes practical books intended to give readers clear, useful guidance, as well as works that examine important legal, political and social questions. Whatever the subject, he aims to make complicated information understandable, engaging and relevant to everyday life.

Alongside his own writing, Arthur is the founder of ACP Publishing Services. Drawing upon his extensive practical publishing experience, he helps ordinary people become published authors—even if they have never written a book before. ACP Publishing assists aspiring authors with developing their ideas, organising their stories, author-assisted writing, editing, cover design, book production and publication through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. Books can be produced as ebooks, paperbacks and hardbacks, with audiobook production also available.

Arthur has a particular interest in helping people preserve their biographies, family histories, professional experiences and personal journeys. He believes that someone does not need to be famous to have a story worth telling. Some of the most moving and inspirational books begin with the memories, mistakes, adventures and lessons of people who never previously imagined seeing their name on a book cover.

When he is not writing, publishing or helping another author develop a story, Arthur enjoys exploring the Philippines, spending time with his family, fishing and playing the piano.

Throughout his work, Arthur seeks to celebrate the courage, resilience, contradictions and humour of the human spirit—and to demonstrate that every life contains stories worth remembering.
