EM Blake lives in the Pacific Northwest, enjoying forest walks, kayaking, growing lavender and blueberries when there was garden space, and thrives on time with family. Her graphic memoir is about one thread in her life that changed everything: being adopted. She is also the author of GreenBean: True Blue Family, Sleep Baby Sleep/Duerme Bebe Duerme, and a Public Health series titled Guidelines of Care for Children with Special Health Needs. She is mostly retired from working as a pediatric nurse practitioner providing healing-informed care. Close to her heart is past volunteering: building houses for Habitat for Humanity, and Master Gardener in Port Townsend, and currently volunteering with local tribes through the Public Health Medical Reserve Corps in King and Snohomish Counties, WA.
