D. A. Schwartz lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband and two youngest children. Debbie is a registered nurse, mother of five, and a new grandmother. Motivated by the birth of her first grandbaby, she wanted to find a way to empower today's children to make their future world a more thoughtful and caring place.

Thus the Lemon Dots were born. Written in verse, the rhyming stories are both simple to understand and fun to read while imparting the important values of love and respect for one another and the environment. Set in the magical land of the Lemon Dot Tree the cute, lovable animals become the heroes of the story as they teach kids the values and responsibility of being part of a family, a community, and this wonderful world in which we live.

Her hope is to reach as many kids as possible and has committed a part of the books proceeds to partnering with schools and communities to build a brighter tomorrow for all kids.
