Sonja Van Leeuwe

Sonja Van Leeuwe grew up in central North Dakota and has since moved to Marshall, Minnesota with her husband, Eric. Besides being an author, Sonja works full-time as a registered nurse in a small hospital in southwestern Minnesota. Some of Sonja's other interests include spending time with family and friends, exploring the internet, and baking. Sonja is a first-time author, and before having her daughter, Madison, she had never considered writing a book. Due to the general lack of awareness of the rare, metabolic condition mentioned in the story, Sonja felt the need to share her story A Balloon in the Snowstorm: Madison's Journey with the world with hope of helping others.
