Donald Gibson

Pastor Donald Gibson is known as the “Pastor to Pastors.” With a deep love for people and the Word, Pastor Don spends most of his time empowering those around him to reach their God-given purpose for their lives.

His personal leadership development began at the young age of 13 when he was called into ministry. He began serving the local church full-time when he was 18. Pastor Don earned degrees in Christian Education, Biblical Theology, and Business. He is also an Ordained Minister through the Assemblies of God.

In addition to his ministerial education and experience, he is a certified coach, teacher, trainer, and speaker through the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team by John Maxwell.

As a respected minister, published author, and seasoned communicator, Pastor Don has traveled extensively to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ and develop leaders worldwide. In addition, Pastor Don established Donald Gibson Ministries to increase these efforts by offering Ministry Leadership Coaching and Corporate Leadership Coaching.

In whatever capacity he serves, his heart is to encourage the church, empower pastors, and equip leaders.

But rather than being identified by his degrees or credentials, Pastor Don prefers to be known as a mentor, pastor, and friend. He’s been married to his high school sweetheart, Jonna, for 34 years. Together they have joyfully pastored at MercyGate Church in Mont Belvieu, Texas, for 15 years. However, their most significant accomplishment is their family. They have 2 adult sons. Pastor Don and Jonna's most cherished roles are being Pops and Gigi to their beautiful grandchildren.

Pastor Don speaks two languages relatively fluently– English and Southeast Texan. And other than leading others or spending quality time with his family, his favorite place is the golf course, especially on a crisp morning. He reads at least 50 books per year and regularly rotates through about 50 podcast shows. His primary goal is to finish the race of life well and help you do the same.
