Remi Kramer

Remi Kramer is a man of many talents-- film director, storyteller, painter, illustrator, designer, and father.

Born in Los Angeles, California in 1935, Remi received his Bachelor of Arts degree at UCLA in 1956 and began his professional career as a graphic designer. Little did he realize it would be the first of six separate careers. Quickly amassing a remarkable number of awards for his work, he became bored with easy success and the design profession and returned to the university. He received his Masters of Arts degree from California University at Los Angeles in 1963 and immediately began an extensive year-long tour of Europe visiting and studying at most of the major museums of the continent. Returning to the United States he embarked on a new career in Advertising. He worked as an Advertising Agency Art Director, Commercial Producer and Broadcast supervisor for various elite advertising agencies.

Unfulfilled again, he opted to become a Hollywood commercial director - and there found interim happiness. After fifteen years of award-studded success, he found himself at the top of his profession - and predictably became bored and unfulfilled once again He left his highly-paid profession to write and direct a feature film starring among others, Ben Gazzara, Paul Winfield, and Britt Ekland. The film was only modestly successful but Remi received high praise for his direction. In the following years he wrote several scripts for independent feature films but again became disillusioned and unfulfilled.

He moved his family from Los Angeles to a beautiful mountain home in north Idaho. There he raised his family of seven children and it was there that he wrote and illustrated the award-winning series of children's books, "The Legend of LoneStar Bear". It was in Idaho that he found the peace and fulfillment he had been searching for. Designer, Agency Producer/etc., Film Director/Film Writer, Author/ Illustrator, - Painter. Although, he had always found some time to paint, here in the mountain woods he could devote himself full-time to serious painting.

Having traveled the world, at the age of 70, Remi visited Argentina for the first time. It was love at first sight. In 2006, he and Aggie, his lovely wife for over 40 years, moved to San Rafael. He designed and built a house in la Villa 25 de Mayo where he lives and paints to this day.

He continues to produce short stories, illustrations and full canvases, some of which are now available as ebooks.
