It was my wife Amy's premature death from alcohol abuse (she was only 41 years old) in November 2006 and my own struggles with alcoholism that made me search for answers as to why both Amy and myself continued to abuse alcohol even though intellectually we knew it was the worst thing we could be doing. It was only after reading Inspired by Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" that I discovered the answer: it's the ego, dummy!

The resulting book, "Overcome Any Personal Obstacle, Including Alcoholism, by Understanding Your Ego", is an essential roadmap for the soul, a sort of GPS for the spiritual seeker, especially for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. The book features The Seven Insights of Enlightenment Recovery System and traces the root cause of the Seven Deadly Sins to an overly strong ego. Book also provides guidance for taming your ego and making it possible to develop the Seven Virtues (opposite of Seven Deadly Sins).

Lastly, besides writing, I love animals -- had a super cool Rat Terrier named Indy (passed away in May 2013) and currently share my apartment with a 9-year-old Orange Maine Coon named Shaggy II. I enjoy bicycling, bowling (in a league even), golfing and playing Words With Friends and Yahtzee With Buddies. My favorite shows are "Archer", "Breaking Bad" and "Gotham". Favorite artists include Beck, The Dead South, AC/DC, Neil Diamond, and 4 Non Blondes.
