Corinna M. Dominy

My name is Corinna M. Dominy. I have enjoyed writing since I was a little girl. Usually, I would write outlines, and sometimes character sketches, when I would get an idea. And that's as far as it went. Especially as I got older and got married. I would still come up with great (to me) story ideas, but I would do with them what I always did: file them away. My dream was that "someday", when our children were out of the house and my husband was retired (and we could, miraculously, afford a cute little cottage by the sea) I would spend my days writing and then become a published writer.

However, one day, I got what I thought was just another idea for a story. Like always, I got excited, did my outline, did character sketches, and even included chapter layouts! As usual,I filed it away. Only, it kept popping back in my head. In the middle of folding laundry or washing dishes, character dialogue would start forming in my mind. This had never happened before! This story wouldn't leave me be! And then I realized what was happening. As it became a daily occurance, I finally realized that perhaps God was prompting me to keep going until I finished the manuscript. So, armed with nothing but words and the grace of God (and my husband's abounding patience), I began to write...and write...and write...and write. It took me five years of frequent interruptions from motherhood until I was finally done. Then what? Self-publishing was spendy and I was a 'no name' in the writing world. And so I wondered, "What do I do now?" Until one day, my husband came home and told me of a co-worker of his that had published on Amazon. He got me in touch with her and she was gracious enough to help me with the process.

Now Emily, Jacob, and Joshua's story is available for the literal whole world to read! For those that have read all about them and are awaiting something more from me, next year I plan on (*crossing fingers*)having another book out that will be the beginning of a series.

And so, dear reader, I genuinely thank you for reading my first novel, 'Matters of the Heart' and my second work, a novella, this author biography! ;)
