John Bryden

John is a teacher and poet from New Zealand, now living in China. During childhood he lived in the Pacific islands countries of Samoa and Fiji. As a teenager and adult he has lived in the USA, Australia, and Singapore. The diversity of his cultural background brings a global outlook to his writing, and a strong awareness of the challenges of adaptation that the present age of globalization imposes on people everywhere. His poetry conveys a positive and uplifting spirit, but also takes note of the darker side of life experience in contrast to the bright spots. Before becoming a teacher of English as a foreign language in China, he worked in journalism, advertising, the business training industry, and the administration of a non-profit organisation. John's other roles include husband, father and grandfather.
