Wayne Jordan

Wayne Jordan is a writer and storyteller based in Galax, Virginia. His family's roots in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina reach back more than two centuries. His first collection of short fiction, Ordinary Reckonings, follows ordinary people across Appalachia as they face choices, losses, obligations, and turning points that shape their lives and communities.

Jordan is also the creator of Blue Ridge Tales, where he explores the history, culture, folklore, foodways, industries, and changing communities of the Blue Ridge. His fiction grows from the same interest in place, memory, work, and the ways people respond when familiar ground begins to shift.

Before turning his attention primarily to fiction and regional storytelling, Jordan wrote extensively about antiques, auctions, and small business. He is the author of several nonfiction books, including The Business of Antiques, Antique Mall Profits for Dealers and Dabblers, and Consignment Gold Rush. His work has also appeared in newspapers, magazines, and trade publications.
