Jack Gannon began his writing career with the self-publishing of his first novel with co-author Cyndi Williams-Barnier, "Murder In Twos and Threes", in 2012. Since then they have written 10 more books in either their murder-mystery "Task Force" series or paranormal-supernatural "InSpectre" series.
Jack was Santa Claus for Beaufort, South Carolina, for 23 years, retiring after the 2015 season due to medical issues. He wrote a coffee-table hardcover book about his Christmas career, "I Walked In Santa's Boots", which was published in 2016 by his and Cyndi's new publishing company, YBR Publishing. YBR's second book was "The Latrodectus Murders" by Jack and Cyndi, which received a 5-star rating from Readers Favorite LLC. The next year they opened YBR to the public, and has since published several South Carolina authors, plus authors outside South Carolina and in London, England, whose books received 4- or 5-star ratings from Readers Favorite LLC.
Jack is not only the co-founder of YBR Publishing but is also its production manager, producing books for YBR's authors. He also serves as the webmaster and social media manager.
Cyndi's and his latest book, "The Task Force That Saved Christmas", went on sale October 15, 2019. Jack is working on his first solo novel in the Task Force series with hopes to publish by YBR in 2022. He completed his first children's book in 2020, which is now at YBR's resident artist, with plans for Christmas 2021 season for debut.
Though now disabled, he still likes to putter in his gardens. During Halloween he puts up a huge haunted forest for the neighborhood children, and decorates his entire house and yards for Christmas.
Jack is a lifetime Star Trek fan, having met most series' cast members at conventions over the years. His annual Star Trek Christmas Tree has Hallmark Star Trek Ornaments going all the way back to the first one issued in 1991, and many of the character ornaments have been signed by the stars.
He and his wife Mendy have been married for 24 years. They have two pets: Tasia, a 14-year-old Pomeranian; and Mister Earl Grey, a 5-year-old Russian Gray who is "a lot of cat". Jack also enjoys keeping house and ends his day with an evening cocktail and Mister Grey sleeping in his lap...6
