Alan Jackson

Hi, my name is Alan Jackson. I’ve spent most of my life hunting, fishing, and living close to the land in the Maine woods. The lessons I’ve learned out there—about patience, persistence, and paying attention—have shaped everything I do, including the books I write.

For years I’ve shared what I know about deer hunting and the outdoors, hoping to help others appreciate nature the way I do. Not all of my books are written for experts—everyone has to start somewhere—and I’ve always believed that the simple lessons matter most.

My newest book, Unwritten: The Writer’s Struggle, comes from a different trail. It’s about facing the same doubts and challenges I’ve met in the woods, only this time on the page. It’s a look at what it really means to keep going when the path gets rough—whether you’re hunting deer or chasing words.
