Hendrik Witmans

Hendrik Witmans was born March 20th, 1941 in The Hague, the Netherlands. After his initial schooling, he moved to London, England, where he worked in the famous Foyle's Book store, as well as several other book stores. In 1967 he emigrated to Canada, where he got his B.A. degree in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Waterloo, Ontario. After finishing his degree, he moved to Vancouver and studied creative writing at the University of British Columbia, where he met his wife Brenda.

The author has always been keenly interested in the way people interact with their world, and his writing reflects this. Why is there so much inequality and suffering everywhere? Surely, there must be other, better possibilities? We live in very auspicious times, as more and more people are waking up to the fact that we need a fundamental change in attitude towards our world and other species for our race to survive.

In 1997 Hendrik wrote and self published his first work, the Oscar Trilogy, three science fiction novels about a futuristic society where dolphins have taken over the world and ruled over humans.

More recently, the author decided to reissue the trilogy. From the feedback of people who had read the series, he knew he had to make a few changes. A prequel was needed, and certain updates were necessary. In the end the trilogy has turned into a series of seven books. Hendrik also published a series of short stories about teleportation, and the things that might go wrong with this futuristic, quirky method of transportation. It is called Problems with Portals, and is also available from Amazon.

The author had always been keenly interested in anything pertaining to consciousness and the human mind, and he believes a major paradigm shift in our thinking is imminent.
