Jonathan is currently the Director of Innovation at Immersion Active. Jonathan co-founded Immersion Active in 1998, and in 2005, saw how underserved the baby boomer and senior markets were online, and how disenfranchised they were by marketing in general. At that point, he and his business partner made the decision to change the agency's focus to serve companies that provide products and services for adults in the second half of life, and in 2015 sold the company to Home Instead, Inc.
Throughout his career, Jonathan’s keen focus on customer and employee experience, digital strategy, and creative direction—using Immersion Active’s "Meaningful Online Engagement Model”—has resulted in over $1.5B worth of successful online transactions.
Jonathan is co-author of Dot Boom: Marketing to Baby Boomers through Meaningful Online Engagement, now in its second edition. He has lead teams to successful outcomes for clients in a variety of industries, working with brands such as AARP, Del Webb, Home Instead Senior Care, the Baltimore Ravens, Medtronic, and CitiBank, as well as a variety of financial, travel, non-profit, startup, and senior care clients.
For example, working with Home Instead Senior Care, he and his team oversaw the concept and execution of a holistic Gold WOMMY-winning Alzheimer's program, first building and engaging a 270K member Alzheimer's Facebook community. He then spearheaded the development of the first Alzheimer's e-learning course made available to the public. His recent work has focused on introducing technology into the home to help care for and enrich the lives of seniors.
The work done by Jonathan and the Immersion Active team has been recognized 200+ times by organizations such as American Advertising Federation, The Webbys, the WOMMYs, the Web Health Awards, and the Content Marketing Awards. Additionally, Jonathan has served as a judge for such shows such as the Effies and the National Mature Media Awards.
When he's not hiking with his family or building Lego creations with his two sons, Jonathan is constantly exploring new technologies, much to the chagrin of his wife, who may or may not have been addressed as "Alexa" on more than one occasion.
