Maria Gray

Most would call Maria E. Gray a self-taught cook and enthusiastic food lover. Her first classrooms were neighborhoods of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island where she was raised, one of seven children in a large Italian family. As a young adult, Maria migrated west to Northern California, where she sampled the vast array of food choices and fresh produce in the San Francisco Bay area.

While on the west coast, Maria attained a PhD in the sciences from the University of California at Berkeley, but her cooking is all from the heart. Since 2005 she has been featured in a series of video shorts which highlight her cooking techniques and enthusiastic teaching style. Maria currently resides with her husband, daughter, newfoundland dog, pug and assorted cats in the new england region of the United States.
