Aurora Gavino

Aurora Gavino is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Malaga (Spain). She studied at the University of Valencia, her hometown. She lived for some years in Paris, where she was trained as a clinical psychologist and obtained her PhD degree from the University of Sorbonne. Her interest in psychology, and in particular in psychological treatments of clinical disorders, has led her over the years to stays at several universities in Europe, Latin America and United States; to publish the results of her research in international scientific journals and writing specialized books in Spanish. Among these books are: Leave behind your obsessions; Psychological treatments and clinical disorders; My child has mania; Obsessive-compulsive disorder: A practical handbook of psychological treatments; and, in collaboration with Stephen N. Haynes and Antonio Godoy, the manual How to select the better psychological treatment: Clinical Case formulation in behavior therapy.

A patient without a face, published in 2009, was her first novel.
