James Morse

Jim Morse grew up in a small town in Southeastern Oklahoma, went off to Texas to study at A & M, then returned to Oklahoma to graduate from medical school. After an intern year at Los Angeles County General Hospital, he served two years in the Army, spending most of that time in Japan and Korea. Following two years of residency in internal medicine, he practiced medicine for eight years in the Baptist Hospital in Barranquilla, Colombia before returning to the States for a fellowship in pulmonary diseases. Subsequently, he served as a pulmonologist on the medical staff of veterans' hospitals in Tucson, AZ, Muskogee, OK, and Temple, TX and as a faculty member at their affiliated medical schools. In 1991 he retired from Veterans Affairs and reentered the Army for four years to serve in Landstuhl, Germany and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Since that time he has lived first in Central Texas and now in Starkville, MS, pretty much as described in the cat's story.
