Janice K. Davis

Janice's favorite class was writing, where one day while sharing stories during 6th-grade, her teacher noted, "Janice you should be writer when you grow up. You're very talented." But that advice seemed surreal to a young middle-schooler, and her writing remained a hobby of journaling and poetry for many years. As an adult, Janice dove into the world of education where her writing skills were tweaked into real-world curriculum development. Spending so much time engaging students through teaching language arts, and after giving birth to her daughter, Janice's passion for creating realistic fiction reemerged. From bedtime storytelling with her daughter to unbelievable classroom experiences, Janice discovered a world of unlimited opportunities to share her creativity. Combining real-life issues such as disabilities and intergenerational challenges with the beauty of fiction finally gave her the foothold into writing that her 6th-grade teacher had alluded all those years earlier. When asked why she loves writing now, she quotes her favorite author, J.K. Rowling: "I'm the author. I can do whatever I want on those pages."
