As I sit here trying to think how best to summarize my life path, the first thing that comes to mind to share with you is that at age 73, is that I am very happy and healthy. And so thankful for those blessings. For many years now, as a psychotherapist, artist, martial artist and author, I have been getting up each day - doing what I love... and loving what I do. Whatever pursuits and paths I've taken along my journey toward self-discovery and contribution, I've felt quite blessed all along the way. Living a life of authenticity and honoring my deepest nature, desires and dreams, has enabled me to accumulate a lot of inner wealth.
I am sure that much of my personal contentment, and over-all life satisfaction, is the result of my dedication to always trying my best to live life from my heart. My first book: MEMO FROM YOUR SOUL tells my life story as well as I can tell it. It is a charming and inspirational read filled with wisdom and real-life anecdotes of how God, the Universe and all of Life is your (best - most true to your life path and purpose) 'booking agent.' The myth of coincidences. or random happenstance, is entertainingly and enlighteningly laid to rest in Memo From Your Soul. By the end of the book, the reader gest a pretty clear and comforting picture of both how and why everything really does happen for a reason. Memo is a very inspiring and reassuring book. Great read for all ages.
My latest book: TRY SOFTER (which just like MEMO - was written more "through" me than "from" me, straight from my heart) is a wonderfully unusual, and soulfully effective, new kind of self-help book. In delightful and profound ways, it is as entertaining as it is enlightening.
The renown spiritual leader, Michael Bernard Beckwith (one of Oprah's favorite spiritual advisors - regularly recognized and associated with such high level teachers as Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tole and the Dali Lama - was gracious enough to contribute a wonderful Foreword to TRY SOFTER. I am very grateful and honored by his collaboration, to say the least. In a briefer, statement of praise, on the back cover, Dr. Beckwith invites you into the book with the following endorsement:
"Through his deep experience as a family counselor, therapist, husband, parent and grandparent, Thomas Newnam's TRY SOFTER offers us a clear, compassionate and practical guide to a revelation in consciousness: Trying softer rather than harder uncovers the heart's innate treasure of wisdom, intuitive intelligence, and unconditional love of self and others. Soften, and let this book's tenderness flow into your heart."
Thank you for your interest in my writings. I am forever humbled by the fact that both of my books are messages from Spirit. Mostly...I was just a scribe:)) Love and Light and...
From my heart and with All Blessings to you.
