Mona Phipps

Mona Phipps grew up in a little town called Ponca City, located in northern Oklahoma, named after the local Indian Tribe that moved there in the early 1890s. She obtained her bachelors degree in Letters and a Masters Degree in American Literature, both from the University of Oklahoma. She has held a wide variety of positions: college English teacher, legal secretary, and in 1990 became a registered dietitian, working in a local Ponca hospital for many years. She wrote her masters thesis on Emily Dickinson and her favorite quote of Dickinson reflects Mona's love of writing.

She has 5 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and spends her time visiting her family around the country, writing, volunteering for non profits, and working out.
