Mona Phipps

Mona Phipps grew up in a little town called Ponca City, located in northern Oklahoma, named after the local Indian Tribe that moved there in the early 1890s. She obtained her bachelors degree in Letters and a Masters Degree in American Literature, both from the University of Oklahoma. She has held a wide variety of positions: college English teacher, legal secretary, and in 1990 became a registered dietitian, working in a local Ponca hospital for many years. She blogs regularly at www.monacphipps.blogspot.com.

She wrote her masters thesis on Emily Dickinson and her favorite quote of Dickinson reflects Mona's love of writing.

She has 5 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and spends her time visiting her family around the country, writing, volunteering for non profits, and working out.
