Doug Drake

Doug Drake: Born in Long Beach Ca. He has been a southern California boy most of his life. Skiing, fishing, scuba diving, biking, hiking, tennis, body boarding, kayaking, paddleboard, Disneyland, Three stooges, Star Trek, Star Wars, hanging out on the beach or backpacking the backcountry where John Muir once walked. These are just a few of the adventures and pursuits that have kept Doug occupied over the years.

Occupations: Doug was carpenter for many years, building homes and schools. The Lord called him out of that field into fulltime ministry. He misses the smell of fresh lumber in the morning, but is honored to give time building the church and individual Christians.

Ministry: Children, youth, adult, ministry for 35 + years. Doug has served in children's ministry for most of his time in service to the Lord but has spent many years in youth and adult leadership. His passion for kids has taken him to Russia, (No he's not a Russian spy.) Africa, Ireland, and Mexico.

He is currently serving as a youth pastor with a Chinese Congregation. (No, he's also not a Chinese spy.)

He began as a volunteer, advanced to adult Bible study leader, then ministry leader/director, and then to pastor. But Christian carpenter is his favorite title, or just Doug is fine too.

A devoted pursuer of the Almighty who has revealed himself in the creation and the words of the Bible.

Doug's first love and greatest desire is to know the Holy One who inhabits eternity. The One who hangs the stars and planets on nothing and gives them all a name; the Holy One who sent his most beloved Son to pay the price for us all.
