Barbara Hosbach

Barbara Hosbach has been writing since grade school, but did not pursue publishing until reaching retirement age, several years ago. Like most people, Hosbach's life has had ups and downs. Life's pleasures include the love of family and friends, swimming, and of course, reading a good book. However, Hosbach found that her challenges-including a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, a serious car accident, the loss of loved ones, and a failed marriage--have also contributed to her spiritual growth. As C.S. Lewis said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures, but shouts to us in our pain."

After coming to the end of her own resources, Barbara Hosbach's spiritual journey began to deepen. In addition to supportive friends and mentors, she found a treasure trove of richness in Scripture, as she began to see the Bible, not as a remote or historical book, but as speaking to her needs in the here and now. It is this enthusiasm for relating to Scripture in a personal, hands-on way, that she shares with her readers.

Hosbach blogs about Scripture at her website: www.biblemeditations.net. Her articles have appeared in magazines such as St. Anthony Messenger, the Ligourian, My Daily Visitor, and on the web at Today's Catholic Woman and Catholic Lane.

Her first book, Fools, Liars, Cheaters & Other Bible Heroes, explores the stories of 28 very human biblical figures who faced a wide range of circumstances with a variety of strengths and weaknesses...just like us.
