Lise G

I am Lise G., Atlanta resident and founder of project Thumbs up Girls: online education for orphaned girls in Africa!

Necessity is the mother of all invention. Friends and acquaintances have always enjoyed the unique pastries, foods, drinks and sweets that were shared with them; my heritage is Dutch Caribbean, Curacao: an island of cultural diversity and languages also evident in its foods. I had an idea, "Finger Licking Different", a compilation of Dutch Caribbean recipes: an eclectic blend of Dutch, Indonesian, Caribbean and South American influences. There are 30 recipes: breads, soups, appetizers, desserts, dips, finger foods and more, including my favorite stuffing.

Finger Licking Different avails orphaned girls an education; online education! Local colleges and universities offer online majors to students abroad. There are over 15 majors available online at accredited GA universities and other states; some majors prepare the student for a career in as little as two years.

* The student can remain at home in her country

* Laptop and books will be provided to her (internet if needed)

* Tuition, fees and books are paid directly to the college or online by credit card (no exchanging of funds to unknown persons required).

* Free international calls using Skype for communication with the student

* One semester's cost $2000(or less)

* A database of eligible orphans or other hopefuls on my FB page Finger Licking Different (in progress).

Enjoy the exotic recipes and here's to Thumbs up Girls!
