Anson Jew

Anson Jew is a storyboard illustrator in the Los Angeles area. Working in both live-action and animation, Anson Jew has drawn storyboards and concept art in video games, feature films, commercials and television programming. He began in the print industry drawing cartoons and designing layouts for advertising, magazines and newspapers. He later moved to the computer game industry for nine years as an animator and illustrator at LucasArts Entertainment where he worked on titles like Full Throttle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Ghoul Patrol, The Dig, Herc's Adventures, Super Star Wars, and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, and Curse of Monkey Island. During this time he also won a Xeric Foundation Grant which he used to self-publish his anthology comic book Saturday Nite. In 2000 he began to work as a freelance illustrator, drawing storyboards and concept art on commercials, feature films, computer games and TV. He drew storyboards for films like Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Inheritance, TMNT, Bruno and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. He worked on TV shows like Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc., Wolverine and the X-Men, and Growing Up Creepie, games like Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows, Insecticide, and Knockout Kings. He has created commercial storyboards for various advertising agencies and commercial production companies which includes spots for Acura, Smuckers, Volkswagen, Gatorade, Walgreens, Crystal Light, The Black Eyed Peas, Phil Vassar, Justin Bieber, and Pussycat Dolls. He taught storyboarding at Otis School of Design and has been a guest speaker at Art Center in Pasadena and San Diego Comic Con.
