Janice Brooks

Janice Brooks spent her growing up years in an Army family. Because of constant moves, books became her friends and writing became the release for emotion she could not express verbally. She began with a poem for her father's birthday when she was 10 about a little bird that moved away and had no place to stay! After many years of shoving her essays and poetry into a drawer, she began her first novel and went through multiple rejections. After winning Gold Medals for short stories and poetry in the El Paso Senior Olympics, Janice joined the El Paso Writers' League. She now has 3 contemporary women's novels in publication and her first children's story (Illusions, A Price for Fame, Seasons and Nimba - the Little Cloud). Visit her website at JaniceBrooks.com. She married and still resides with her teen-age sweetheart on a pecan farm in southern New Mexico.
