George Ure is a semi-retired business geek, writer, polymath, and lifelong adventure-seeker who lives with his wife, Elaine, on a secluded 29-acre ranch in the East Texas Outback.
When he isn't building, fixing, experimenting, or working the property, George writes UrbanSurvival and the subscriber economics and research publication Peoplenomics. His design-team-facing AI work is now four books deep, with additional research under the Hidden Guild banner, where he's the Anti-Dave. (Yes, that's right, Hal...)
George is a “brain bulldozer.” He holds an MBA in long-wave economics and has served as a technical-college president, international-airline vice president, software and systems strategist, entrepreneur, and major-market radio news director. He has multiple patent efforts underway and was doing wireless data in 1982. “Everyone dies, but not everyone goes to the edge in their life,” he explains.
The hobbies show it. George is an Amateur Extra-class ham-radio operator and high-speed Morse-code enthusiast, a private ASEL and drone pilot who has flown five single-engine transcontinental trips, an offshore sailor, and a hands-on builder experienced in home construction, welding, woodworking, hydroponics, electronics, music recording, 3D design and printing, CNC, and whatever new project wanders into the shop.
His books come from decades of actually doing things. Economics, anti-aging, technology, self-reliance, artificial intelligence, time, and the occasional unreasonable question are all fair game.
In other words, he's your average real smart old dude they don't make anymore — RSODTDMA.
Enjoy the books. Each carries a distinct sense of been there, done that because he has.
