Therese Burson

Therese Burson taught college literature – everything from Beowulf to Virginia Woolf - and worked as a free-lance writer on several public television projects before she and Patricia Barey, a TV producer/director, formed their own media production company. Their mission was to tell the stories of people whose pioneering work in the fields of medicine, culture and the arts they admire.

A fervent Francophile and cook, Terry naturally fell in love with the “French Chef.” Julia Child was just the kind of visionary and larger-than-life personality she and Pat were drawn to.

Curious about what made this extraordinary woman so joyous, they dug deep into her letters and family photos, and were thrilled to find intimate details of her daily life: her love affair with husband Paul, French food and Paris. And they made a delicious discovery – the secret ingredient in Julia’s joie de vivre was a lifelong passion for pussycats. They knew Julia’s story wouldn’t be complete unless it included Julia’s cats.

Terry lives in the Chicago area, in a maison currently sans chat.
