J. Shepard Trott grew up in Philadelphia. He loved books, reading them while cutting class in high school. He took his bookish passion to Temple University and then carried it with him to Uganda, where he worked teaching books and reading some African ones that were new to him, and playing soccer, usually without a book. He sadly left some books there, and returned to Philadelphia, where he enrolled in Temple's Graduate School for Education. They forced him to buy new books. Upon finishing his masters he began to teach at Fitzsimons High School, at 26th and Cumberland. There, he had to put down a book or two breaking up a fight or three, but still was able to impart some of the joy of books. Currently he teaches at Central High School, where there piles of books that vy with humans for living space and he is generally happy.
Along the way, he decided he'd like to make some of the books he liked so much. He has written four novels. The first is in a closet, the second two, a mystery novel and science fiction dystopia, he'll sell someday, and the most recent, Illumen's Children, is available on amazon.com. It will be available in soft back in the spring of 2013.
