Dr. Avi Shilon is a historian who specializes in the field of "Israel Studies".
His first book is the only academic comprehensive biography of Menachem Begin, titled "Menachem Begin: A Life",(Yale University press, 2014). The book won as a finalist of the Jewish Book Council. His second book, "Ben Gurion: His Later Years in the Political Wilderness" was published both in Hebrew and English on 2016 and was adapted into a film, "Ben Gurion, Epilogue". His new book, "The Decline of the Left-wing in Israel: Yossi Beilin and the Politics of the Peace Process", is based on an exclusive access he received to the archive of the architect of the Oslo accord, Yosi Beilin, and was published recently by Bloomsbury publishing house on 2020. Shilon is currently a visiting scholar at NYU. He also writes op-ed columns for Haaretz newspaper.
