Carolee Ackerson Bertisch

Carolee Ackerson Bertisch was the English Facilitator and Writing Coordinator for the Rye Neck School District in Westchester County, New York. Since moving to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, she has led two lively book discussion groups.

An author and poet, with her most recently published piece in "Talking Writing" Carolee was the Chair of the St. Johns County Library Advisory Board, the former President of the Friends of the Library, Poetry Chair of the Florida Heritage Book Festival, founding member of A Gathering of Poets and the Bird Island Park Board of Directors. She was honored to be nominated for the EVE award as a Volunteer in 2010.

Carolee's book in 2005 was Who Waves the Baton? Musings About Nature, Marshmallows and Mountain Ranges. A Memoir in Poetry and Prose, Walking to the Beat, was published in 2012. In 2014, she was honored to be chosen by the St. Johns Cultural Council to receive the ROWITA Award - Recognition of Women in the Arts. A book of poems, The Twelfth of Never, is her newest book in 2018.
