K.K. Yeo

K.-K. Yeo is Harry R. Kendall Professor of New Testament at Garrett-Evangelical Seminary, Affiliate Faculty at the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at Northwestern University (Evanston), and a Visiting Professor of Peking University, Peking Normal University, Zhejiang University, Huaqiao University and Fudan University in China. A Lilly Scholar (1999) and Henry Luce III Scholar (2003), and the co-director, Center for Classical Greco-Roman Philosophy and Religious Studies, Institute for Ethics and Religious Studies (IERS), Tsinghua University, Beijing (since September 2015-). He has authored/edited over 40 Chinese and English books, and series co-editor with Dr. Melanie Baffes of "Contrapuntal Readings of the Bible in World Christianity" (2018–). He is the author of Musing with Confucius and Paul (2008), The Spirit Hovers (2011), Zhuangzi and James (2012), co-edited (with Gene L. Green and Steve T. Pardue) on the Majority World Theology Series (omnibus by IVP, 2020; Langham: Jesus Without Borders [2014], Trinity Among the Nations [2015], The Spirit Over the Earth [2016], So Great a Salvation [2017], The Church from Every Tribe and Tongue [2018], All Things New [2019]. He co-edited with Gene Green, Theologies of Land (2021). He edited, The Oxford Handbook of the Bible in China (2021), and Scripture, Cultures, Criticism (2022).

As a Chinese born and raised in Borneo, Malaysia, educated in the United States, and currently serving the global church by preparing academic and ecclesial leaders in the U.S., Middle East and China, K.-K.'s teaching and research have focused on culture and the Bible, with a special emphasis on the tasks of building nations, transforming local communities, fulfilling the ideals of culture, saving individuals from chaos, meaninglessness, injustice, and moving them toward shalom and beauty.

杨克勤教授为华裔学者，专长古典学等研究。祖籍广东，旅美定居。身为文化学人，常于美国、欧洲、中国和以色列做专题访学。现任美国迦勒特神学院新约恳德座席教授（Harry R. Kendall Professor），美国西北大学亚洲文化和语言系教授, 北京大学访问教授以及浙江大学以及华侨大学特聘客座教授，清华大学道德与宗教研究院古希腊罗马哲学与宗教研究中心(与王晓朝教授)联合主任，北京师范大学基督文艺中心首席专家，博士生导师。自1992年获美国西北大学哲学博士，主攻西方古典诠释学、圣经文本与文化研究。国际新约协会（Society of New Testament Studies)与圣经文学协会（Society of Biblical Literature）会员。学术成果卓越，曾在国际中英文期刊发表学术专文90多篇，中文著作24部，英文著作19部，代表性著作为Rhetorical Interaction in 1 Corinthians 8 and 10: A Formal Analysis with Implications for a Cross-Cultural, Chinese Hermeneutic《歌林多前第八和十章的修辞互动》（Leiden: E.
