Charles W. Cherry II

Charles W. Cherry II was born in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1956. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College in journalism in 1978 and both Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Florida in 1982.

He practiced law for 31 years in South Florida and has a been a radio station group owner, broadcaster and manager, a newspaper writer and publisher, and a sought-after speaker.

He is the author of “Excellence Without Excuse: The Black Student’s Guide to Academic Excellence,” one of the best books ever written on improving academic performance for African-American students; and co-author (with C. David Moody, Jr.) of “Fighting Through the Fear: My Journey of Healing from Childhood Sexual Abuse,” the story of Moody’s victory over childhood sexual abuse.
