Gene Rowe

Gene Rowe is an academic and writer. Born in Bedford, England (1966: the Glorious Year!), he moved around a lot as a child thanks to his father's job in the United States Air Force (his father is a Mainer). He read psychology at Bristol University and completed a PhD at the Bristol Business School. After several academic postings, he set up his own consultancy in 2010, which was doing well until killed by COVID.

He now writes on a near-full-time basis. His first solo novel - 'The Greater Game' (2022; White Cat Publications) - is a science fiction adventure with inadvertent Brexit allegories (though an even-handed take). He remastered this, with the second edition for sale through Ministry of Lies from 2024. His second, third, and fourth novels were also released in 2024: 'The Price of Freedom Part 1: Ghuraj to Arkon', 'The Price of Freedom Part 2: Velasia', and 'Of Yellow Shirts and Little Green Men' (all Ministry of Lies). In 2025 he published 'Of Spilt Ale and Alien Revenge' (MOL), the sequel to 'Yellow Shirts', which together form The Norwich Chronicles.

Since 2022, he has been co-editor of the British Science Fiction Association's 'Fission' anthologies (with Eugen Bacon).
