Tristan Gans has been called "one of the powerful young voices of our new and complicated century." His works describe all too well the experiences of a generation of young men and women who were trained to strive for genuine greatness, only to discover that in a postindustrial, post-American world greatness may not be possible.
Gans' work ranges from travel writing to experimental fiction to a witty "advice column," Tristan Gans' Totally Real Advice for Humans, which can be found on the web at tristangans.tumblr.com. There he answers reader questions on subjects ranging from cooking technique to literature to avoiding the zombocalypse. (He also maintains a website at www.tristangans.com that has nothing of particular interest on it; it’s just to prevent squatters. You can also find him on facebook. At the request of his agent and publisher, he is all about the web accessibility. You can even contact him at tristan@tristangans.com!) He is currently at work on both fiction and nonfiction projects as well as a book of poetry for children.
Gans lives in the Boston area with his wife Sarah. He is pursuing a career in the legal profession. This is his first book.
