Jan M. Smits

Jan Smits is professor of law at Maastricht University (the Netherlands) and Dean of the Faculty of Law. He holds a PhD from Leiden University. Recent books include 'The Mind and Method of the Legal Academic', in which he discusses the aims and methods of legal scholarship, and 'Contract Law: A Comparative Introduction'.
