Wayne E. Torbert

Wayne E. Torbert is a history buff with a strong interest in many periods of history. His over 19 years of experience as a Civil War reenactor led to his first novel, "The Young Cadet, An account of Tallahassee's Battle of Natural Bridge". And his interest in ancient Greek and Roman history brought about his novelette, "Twelve For Thebes". Another period he finds interesting is 17th and 18th Century America. He wrote the children's book, "Alvarez, A Spanish Colonial Family", after volunteering as a living historian at Mission San Luis. His newest novel, "Redemptio, A Novel of Imperial Rome", is a story about a runaway slave during the reign of Emperor Nero and how through the missionary efforts of St. Paul, this slave found redemption. Recently retired from the State of Florida, the author lives in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife, Helga, and three adorable pets.
