Mark is the director of the Park Ranger Training Program at Northern Arizona University. This follows a 27-year career in the U.S. National Park Service. He has extensive experience in parks and recreation management, including the supervision of one of the largest NPS campground systems in the nation. Mark has taught on a national level for the past 20 years for the outdoor hospitality profession. He has served on the Board of Regents and has been an instructor for the National School of RV Park and Campground Management since its inception in 1993.
Mark is a doctoral candidate in educational leadership at Northern Arizona University and holds master’s degrees in political science and educational leadership. He was the first public agency employee to attain the Certified Park Operator-Lifetime designation and he is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional.
Mark’s son is a paramedic with the National Park Service and his daughter is a recent graduate of Northern Arizona University, pursuing a career in marketing.
