Camille DeClementi

Dr. Camille DeClementi was born in southern New Jersey and has loved the beach and all animals since childhood. She always wanted to become a veterinarian and once she graduated from Pinelands Regional High School in Tuckerton, she headed off to earn her BS in Biology from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania in 1990, and her VMD from Philadelphia's University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She practiced emergency and general veterinary medicine in Pittsburgh and Tennessee before joining the ASPCA in 1999. Dr. DeClementi became a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology in 2006 and the American Board of Veterinary Toxicology in 2007 and is a Certified Veterinary Journalist.

She now oversees the quality, consistency and integrity of the medical records for the the ASPCA's veterinary programs. She also provides staff training in addition to being a media spokesperson for the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center on poisoning topics. She has spoken on various clinical veterinary toxicology issues and has authored several peer-viewed articles and book chapters. Dr. DeClementi is a past co-owner of the Animal Emergency Clinic in Champaign, IL.

She is passionate about the environment and conservation and enjoys hiking, yoga and art. She is an avid reader and especially enjoys mysteries. Dr. DeClementi now lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her partner (also a veterinarian) and their greyhound Olive and two cats Cosimo and Opal.
