Alice French lives in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. She is retired from a career in television--first as a producer/host of a daily women's talk show, then as creator/director of a student-operated high school television station in Lubbock, Texas. French earned a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma and a PhD from the University of Missouri.
French chose writing as her post-retirement endeavor. Although she has been writing most of her life, "Happy Birthday: Adjusting to Life's Changes as the Birthdays Keep on Coming" is her first published book. Her forthcoming book is a memoir about the ramifications of living with the after-effects of polio. She is currently working on her first novel whose central characters are two female television producers who are entangled in a shocking kidnapping.
French is a member of the Holiday Island Writing Guild and the Community Writing Program of Eureka Springs. She attends the annual Ozark Creative Writers Conference and, this year, attended the 4-day Ozark Master Class workshop. She values her regular critique group led by Alison Taylor-Brown.
When not writing, French is busy with one or two or three of the following: reading or listening to audio books, working with Deco clay, knitting with seed beads, watching TV and movies, playing violin in a string ensemble, and best of all, visiting with friends. Her two Ragdoll cats, Tinkerbell and Baxter, join her in all these activities.
