Lorraine Allman

Lorraine is an author, educator, and international consultant with over 20 years’ experience working on a wide range of projects involving children and young people from early years through to school leavers.

She has run workshops across the UK and internationally, developing toolkits and programmes for nurturing a Can-Do mindset and life skills in young people through screen-free play. She has developed an Enterprising and Life Skills programme for young learners in South Africa, worked with family centres and educators in UAE, and helped launch the first Bright Start “Early Years Excellence in Practice” conference now in its 7th year and a recognised global annual event for Early Years professionals. Lorraine has delivered sessions on Parental Engagement at the UK Festival of Education and has been a Play Ambassador for the Toy Association's 'Genius of Play' initiative.

Working closely with Young Enterprise for many years, Lorraine supported the YE Primary Schools 'Fiver; competition as Lead Judge for over 4 years, and has been a role model for the last 14 years as part of the Welsh Government’s 'Big Ideas Wales' initiative, delivering enterprising workshops in schools and colleges. In addition to her published books, she has written numerous resources for organisations including "So, you want to be an entrepreneur? A practical guide to starting a business for 11-16 year olds" for Careers Wales.

She lives in South-East Wales.
