Robert W Adkinson Ph.D.

Robert "Wayne" Adkinson grew up in Central Florida during the period immediately following WWII. He is an Emeritus Professor, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where he taught and did research in animal breeding and genetics. He is a self proclaimed "Florida Cracker" with a love of American heritage and history. His writing relates mainly to growing up in the rural south and southern culture.

I am the stereotypical aging baby boomer. My thoughts have turned to times past and I am saddened to realize that young people today will never know the pleasures that I experienced as a kid growing up in the 50's and 60's. It gives me pleasure to pass some of these memories on and to recall the old times and old timers
