Debra Davis Hinkle

Her mother said, “She always tells the truth,” and that’s why Debra writes creative non-fiction or poetry; she can’t write fiction because it feels, to her, that making up stories is lying. Well, she just started lying; she is over 50,000 words into a cozy mystery, The Castle Murders.

She has two books waiting for publication: I Forgive You, and Oodles of Blog Post Ideas. She also has almost finished three more books: Meow Poetry, Meow Poetry Two, and Meow Poetry Three.

She is the current leader of the Friday Night Writers’ Group. She is the Webmaster of Friday Night Writers’ Group and other websites. She is a past Webmaster of SLO NightWriters’ website. She also has a few Facebook and YouTube sites.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Information Systems from California State University, Long Beach.

Debra spearheaded and contributed to the following: (1) This n’ That Poetry, co-authored with Shirley Radcliff Bruton, (2) Tales from a Rocky Coast, Vol One, co-authored with B. Carter Pittman and Shirley Radcliff Bruton, and (3) Tears to Laughter: Embracing the Future Without Letting go of the Past, co-authored with Jim Leonard.

Debra is a multi-award-winning author, narrative poet and artist who lives on the Central Coast of California with her husband. She enjoys working on her writing and Neonesque Artwork designs while her three cats vie for her attention. They give her never-ending comic relief and ideas for poems and stories
