Clare Hayes

I wrote my first Toby Hunter book when I was taking maternity leave with my daughter. I got a lot more written in the month before she was born than in the following six months. But eventually the book was finished, and I did get it published. In the following years I wrote two further stories about Toby Hunter, and really enjoyed both. But I went back to work as a civil servant and didn’t think much more about it. I got back to writing, and started by republishing those original novels. My daughter has encouraged me as now she is old enough to read the books herself, and helped me out with some much improved cover art.

Now I'm on a new writing adventure with my co-author John Nightingale, writing thrillers for adults in the new Admiralty Arch series, starting with Four Wise Monkeys
